DG KU MAZWA (better known as Dayangku Mazwa) began her academic journey by obtaining a Diploma in Public Administration from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Kota Kinabalu. Motivated by a strong interest in the law and its practical applications, she pursued and completed her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) at UiTM Shah Alam.
She commenced her legal career at Boon Chew Chambers, undergoing her pupillage under the mentorship of our founding partner, Boon Seong. Upon her call to the Malaysian Bar in March 2025, she continued her legal practices with the firm a Legal Associate.
Dayangku’s primary area of practice is conveyancing, loan documentations and estate planning and administration. She has experience in handling real estate transactions involving both individual and corporate clients, and is well-versed in the drafting and execution of sale and purchase agreements.
She is actively involved in housing project transactions where she advises both the Developers and the End-Financiers. Her responsibilities include liaising with key stakeholders such as financial institutions, developers, and government authorities to ensure smooth and timely completion of transactions.
She is fluent in English and Malay.
NOTABLE EXPERIENCES LIST:
Represented one of the most prominent oil and gas engineering companies as Claimant in adjudication proceeding under Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (“CIPAA Act”). It was one of the first few tests in the oil and gas industry in relation to the interpretation of “construction contract” in Section 4 of CIPAA Act.
Represented clients as the victims in land fraud matters to recover the lands which had been wrongfully transferred through fraudulent transactions from the State Government.
Represented a Hong Kong based company in beauty industry to take action against a local supplier selling unauthorized goods based on cause of action of tort of deceit and fraudulent representation.
Represented an advertising company in its restructuring exercise, including preparing mutual separation agreements vis-à-vis the respective employees and successfully secured the full agreement from all employees to sign the mutual separation agreement.
Assisted in an arbitration proceeding involving a combined cycle power plant.
Regularly represented corporate clients in quasi-criminal prosecution cases.
